Song title: Gadigal Land
Artist: Midnight Oil with Dan Sultan, Joel Davison, Kaleena Briggs and Bunna Lawrie
Year: 2020
Why I like this song:
And so Midnight Oil come roaring back to life: Still angry and passionate as before - but then that only represents the lack of change in the years since.
I have been listening to The Makarrata Project mini-album and, much like a lot of other people, it strikes me how the Oils are working with First Nations peoples so the latter can have their say. Certainly it is unusual to hear the Oils take a back seat on their own recording but's precisely the point.

Song title: Misako Aoki and Merry Merly
Artist: Antique
Year: 2017
Why I like this song:
Kiera got me into this: A lolita band joining forces with the president of the Japan Lolita Association for lolita fashion.
So what is it about this that I find intriguing? Its the hypnotic nature, the rapping and it's quirkiness - kind of like the demented cousin of Gorillaz.
Its certainly different but that's what makes it fascinating.
