Nineties Revisited: Don't I Hold You

Original video located here. Accessed 27th August 2021

Song title: Don't I Hold You

Artist: Wheat

Year: 1999

Why I like this song:

You know how it is: You hear a song, you think it's nothing special, but it leaves an impression - so much so that over a decade later you remember the song, you hunt it down and you see it in a new light.

Those who have been following this series would pick up that I have been favoring lesser-known songs over more-well known songs. So what makes this song special over the seventy songs that preceded it?

I will admit I am a sucker for atmosphere and for me, this song succeeds to that end. For this, it is down to the keyboard effects throughout that makes this song ideal for an autumn day. The lyrics, which talks of romance, in particular of infatuation and awkwardness, is the icing on the cake.
